UPPER DELTA

While attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Vincent Turner, Jr. moved to Jonesboro with his pitbull Manny to complete his administrative residency for his master’s in health care administration (MSHA). Vincent’s residency was with St. Bernards Medical Center. Vincent graduated with his MSHA and master’s in business administration and decided to stay in Jonesboro and continue working for St. Bernards. One of the reasons he chose to stay? The people.

“Everyone is focused and dedicated to continuing to make Jonesboro a great place to live and taking things to the next level,” he says.

Vincent joined the staff at St. Bernards full-time after completing his residency in 2014. Today, Vincent is the assistant vice president of Continuum of Care at St. Bernards.

Vincent has lived all over the south, including Tallahassee, Florida; Mobile, Alabama; Jacksonville, Alabama and Birmingham, Alabama. But he says living in Jonesboro has its own special charm that’s made him love working and living there.

“It’s the Delta!” he says. “It’s been built and sustained on hard work. The Delta presents its own unique challenges, but overall it’s that mentality of hard work that allows us to be great.”
